Self Portrait Scrapping

I just love the way this layout came out. Too many of us scrappers don't get in many pictures and when we do, they are usually posed. Here is a shot of myself that I took by looking in the mirror. It is definitely not the best shot of myself but I wanted that....LOL. Read my journaling that went with on this page and you can understand why. At 41 yrs old, we need to start accepting ourselves for "who we are now" and not miss "who we were" as teenagers or younger adults. One of my favorite quotes is....To wish to be someone else is to waste the person you are. So embrace yourself in the here and now and do a "not so perfect" picture on a layout about YOU!

Here is my journaling from that page.....

Here is a picture of the REAL ME..... no makeup, nothing to hide, no emotion, a blank canvas.--not so bad.

I am basically secure in myself-Of course, I want to lose a few pounds but thathas been the story of my life. Now, I care moreabout being a healthy weight and strive to attain that.

I like my face and have come to terms with my curly hair. I am glad to see that I haven’taccumulated too many wrinkles. I notice somelaugh lines but those are from fun and goodtimes and are ok with ME.

At 41, I have come to the realization that I am not perfect - but I am ME. I still care aboutmy appearance but care more about enrichingmy life with happiness, knowledge and experiences.

I don't pretend to be something I am not.

I am happy to be ME.

Patterned Paper

Ever since reading Ali Edwards - A Designer's Eye for scrapbooking with patterned paper, I have been inspired to do a crazy, loud, patterned paper layout. I LOVE Ali's style of scrapping and also incorporated my own handwriting, like she does on many of her layouts. Anyhow, after receiving most of my QVC goodies tonight, I had some inspiration. Hope ya'll like it. The paper is BG and the circle felt ribbons are from QVC and by Rob and Bob Studio. LOVE THEM!! They came in 6 color sets of 4 different styles of ribbons. There is plain, flowers, rickrack looking and these circles. ALSO....one of the QVC goodies I received is Lisa Bearnson's book - Volume 3 of Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson .....OMG.....the extras that came with this were soooooo unbelievably gorgeous and so far, I glanced through the book and it is great! Love this addition to my special books......thanks Lisa.

Fun on QVC today

WOW - I had so much fun watching ScrapFest on QVC today and bought all new kinds of goodies that I can't wait to get! I got to speak on tv also.....got to speak to the host Lena McEllwan during a Tools of the Trade show. I had already had my tv set to tape the day's shows so I can go back to look for ideas when I scrap - so I got myself on tape. It was fun to speak on tv.

My wonderful husband let me shop all day!!! I Love him!!!

Well I am going to get ready for Scrap Day on QVC starting at Midnight....can't wait! I hope they have some new things to buy and I definitely want Lisa Bearnson's Volume 3 of Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson. Not only am I addicted to Scrapbooking but I am a QVC junkie also.......combine the two and I am ecstatic!!!

test

Just created this blog and am testing to see how this works. If all goes well...I will be able to post my daily life here and layouts for other scrappers to see.
The image above is one of my favorites of my daughter's drawings.
